Rodney Brown, Class A Superintendent
Rodney has been in the golf course maintenance business for over 14 years. Originally from High Point, North Carolina, he currently resides in Coral Springs with his wife Carolyn. Rodney has worked at Woodlands Country Club, Okeeheelee Golf Course and John Prince Golf Learning Center. Rodney is a Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America and earned his degree in turfgrass management from Penn State University. In his spare time he enjoys golf, fishing and playing music.
Rick Durham, PGA Professional
Mr. Durham has been a PGA Professional for over 24 years. Prior to joining the JCD team Mr. Durham was Head Professional at Cypress Creek Country Club for 26 years. Mr. Durham specializes in all phases of junior instruction and assisted area schools with their golf programs. He has been providing adult group and individual instruction for 34 years. Mr. Durham has organized and directed many group and corporate outings and is a skilled calligrapher. Mr. Durham has had three published instruction articles in ‘Golf Illustrated’ magazine. He is certified in all phases of club building and repair. While in college he played on the FAU Golf team which were 1976 NAIA section champions and has competed in many state and local golf tournaments.
Bryan Tyrell Director of Catering and Banquet Services
Bryan brings over 25 experience in the hospitality field to Delray Beach Golf Club. He joined the team after a much decorated background that has took him virtually around the globe. Bryan was a member of a Two-time World Championship BBQ back in Kansas City. He later was named Smokehouse Manager for Joe’s BBQ KC when it was named the Best BBQ Restaurant in the World by Zagat’s Guide to Restaurants. From there he traveled to London, UK where as Director of Operations he helped open five BBQ restaurants in the highly competitive restaurant business. Twice his restaurants were nominated as Best American Restaurant in London and Time Out publications named his ribs, Best Ribs This Side of The Atlantic. In addition, one of his sandwiches was named Best Sandwich in London. After stints in the Caribbean and South Africa, Bryan landed in Delray Beach as Smokehouse Manager at Smoke BBQ on Atlantic Avenue. While there he was named one of the Most Inspirational Chefs in South Florida. Tyrell joined the team at Delray Beach Golf Club in April of 2024 and will oversee all restaurant operations as well as catering functions.
